About this tool
Exact image sizes and resize presets for YouTube thumbnails, Instagram posts, Facebook covers, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, WhatsApp status, Threads, Reddit, Discord, Twitch and Snapchat.
Every social image size in one tool. Pick a platform to get its current recommended dimensions, safe zones and file limits, and resize your image to fit. This page brings together 12 separate social media image size generator pages (Discord banner, Facebook cover, Instagram post, LinkedIn image, Pinterest pin, Reddit banner, Snapchat ad, Threads image, Twitch panel, WhatsApp status, X (Twitter) image, YouTube thumbnail) so you can compare them without hunting for the right one.
Open Social Media Image Size Generator on AltFTool — it loads instantly in your browser.
Choose your platform at the top: Discord banner, Facebook cover, Instagram post, LinkedIn image and 8 more. On a phone it is a drop-down list.
Fill in the social media image size generator for that platform; each of the 12 options keeps its own rules, data and defaults.
Read the result, then switch platform to compare. The page link keeps your platform (?v=discord-banner), so you can bookmark or share it.
Discord banner, Facebook cover, Instagram post and the rest sit behind one picker, so switching platform takes a tap instead of a new search.
Every platform keeps its own rules, numbers and defaults rather than one generic template.
The link remembers the platform you picked, so a bookmark or a shared link opens straight on it.
12: Discord banner, Facebook cover, Instagram post, LinkedIn image, Pinterest pin, Reddit banner, Snapchat ad, Threads image, Twitch panel, WhatsApp status, X (Twitter) image, YouTube thumbnail. Pick one at the top of the tool; the page link updates (for example ?v=discord-banner) so you can bookmark or share that exact view.
960×540 pixels, a 16:9 frame that sits above the channel list, and it is only available once the server reaches boost Level 2. The invite splash is a separate, larger asset at 1920×1080 and unlocks at Level 1.
A personal profile cover is 851 x 315 px. A Page cover displays at 820 x 312 px on desktop and 640 x 360 px in the app, so uploading at 2x — 1640 x 624 px — keeps it sharp on retina screens.
1080 × 1080 for a square and 1080 × 1350 for a portrait post. Instagram serves feed images at up to 1080 pixels wide, so exporting larger gains nothing. Portrait at 4:5 is the tallest ratio the feed accepts and takes up the most screen height, which is why it is the usual choice for reach.
1200 x 1200 px square is the safest single-image size because it fills the feed column on mobile. If you want maximum vertical space use 1080 x 1350 px (4:5); for a link preview card LinkedIn renders 1.91:1, so supply 1200 x 627 px.
1000 x 1500 pixels, a 2:3 ratio. That is the shape Pinterest recommends and the tallest one guaranteed to display in full across the home feed, search and board views on both mobile and desktop.
Author the banner 1920 px wide and match the height to the header height you selected in Mod Tools — commonly 128, 192, 256 or 384 px. Because Reddit fills the header width, the important content should sit in the middle rather than near the edges.
1080 x 1920 pixels at 9:16 for single image and video ads, which is the same full-screen canvas as an organic snap. Story Ads additionally need a 360 x 600 brand tile, and collection ads need four 160 x 160 product tiles.
1080 pixels wide. Use 1080 x 1350 for portrait, 1080 x 1080 for square and 1080 x 566 for landscape. Threads serves feed images at 1080 wide, so uploading larger only means the server downsamples for you.
320 pixels wide — Twitch always renders panels in a fixed 320 pixel column — and up to 300 pixels tall. 320 x 100 is the common button-style panel; the file must be 2.9 MB or smaller.
1080 x 1920 pixels, a 9:16 ratio. That matches the status viewport exactly, so the image fills the screen with no bars. A square 1080 x 1080 image covers only about 56% of that screen and a 16:9 landscape image about 32%.
