The Google Account Privacy Checklist audits the 26 Google account settings that decide what is recorded about you, how long it is kept, who can see it and which apps still have access. It covers Web & App Activity and its audio and Chrome sub-settings, the 3, 18 and 36-month auto-delete options, YouTube History, Gemini Apps Activity, Timeline location records, My Ad Center personalisation, Drive link sharing and third-party app connections. Because pausing a control and deleting what it already stored are separate actions, each is listed separately.

Pick 'Who are you locking this down for?' — the profile reweights the same list — and set the 'Target score (%)', which starts at 90.
Tick each of the 26 settings as you apply it in your own account; every row names where the control lives, what it costs to skip, and carries a Critical badge when it caps your score.
Watch the protection score, the 'Remaining exposure by area' bars and 'Shortest route to your target'; 'Copy result' exports the score, the critical settings still open and everything left to do.
Most guides stop at pausing; the backlog of stored activity is usually the larger exposure.

Go to myaccount.google.com > Data and privacy > Web & App Activity and turn it off, or set auto-delete to 3 months, the shortest option Google offers. Pausing only stops new records — clearing what is already stored needs a separate Delete activity by > All time on myactivity.google.com.
New accounts default to auto-deleting Web & App Activity after 18 months, with 3 and 36 months also available. Older accounts often have auto-delete switched off entirely and hold everything since the account was created, so it is worth checking rather than assuming the newer default applies.
It was renamed Timeline and moved to on-device storage, with auto-delete defaulting to three months on migrated accounts. Check your own account under Data and privacy, because accounts that never completed the migration can still hold years of cloud-stored location records.
No. Turning personalisation off in My Ad Center stops your profile being used to select ads, but activity is still recorded unless you also turn off or auto-delete Web & App Activity, YouTube History and Timeline. The two are separate controls doing separate jobs.
