About this tool
Estimate your NPS Tier 1 corpus at 60, the mandatory annuity share and the expected monthly pension.
NPS Tier 1 Corpus Calculator projects what your National Pension System retirement account could be worth at exit, using your monthly contribution, an optional annual step-up, the years left to retirement and an expected market-linked return. It then splits that corpus the way the scheme actually requires — at least 40% must buy an annuity, up to 60% can be taken as a tax-free lump sum — and converts the annuity portion into an expected monthly pension. It is built for salaried and self-employed subscribers who want a realistic picture of both the lump sum and the income NPS will produce.

Converts the annuity portion into an expected monthly and annual pension at your chosen annuity rate.
On exit at superannuation, at least 40% of the Tier 1 corpus must be used to buy an annuity from an IRDAI-registered provider. If the total corpus is Rs 5 lakh or less, you may withdraw the entire amount instead.
The lump sum of up to 60% withdrawn at superannuation is exempt under Section 10(12A). The annuity income you receive later is taxed as income in the year of receipt. This is informational — confirm with a tax adviser for your case.
NPS is market-linked with no guaranteed return. Long-run blended returns have commonly been modelled in the 8% to 11% range depending on your equity (Scheme E) allocation, so try a conservative and an optimistic figure.
Under the old regime, employee contributions count towards the Rs 1.5 lakh limit via Section 80CCD(1), with an additional Rs 50,000 available under Section 80CCD(1B). Employer contributions are deductible under 80CCD(2) in both regimes, subject to the prescribed salary limits.
