The Naming Ceremony Invitation Wording tool produces complete invitation text for a namkaran sanskar, cradle ceremony, aqiqah or christening, in English, Hindi or Hinglish, and works out which day after birth the chosen date falls on. That day count matters because the traditional timings are fixed: namkaran is prescribed for the 11th or 12th day after birth, aqiqah is Sunnah on the 7th day, and in all of these counts the day of birth itself is day 1. Date arithmetic uses exact integer day numbers, so a February in a leap year is handled correctly.

The day of birth counts as day 1, so the 11th day is birth date plus 10 — the mistake most calculators make.

If the name is being announced at the ceremony, the wording says so instead of leaving a blank.
The Grihya Sutras prescribe the 11th or 12th day after birth, and many communities also use the 10th, 16th or 21st day. The day of birth counts as day 1, so an 11th-day namkaran for a baby born on 1 September falls on 11 September.
Aqiqah is Sunnah on the seventh day after birth, when the baby is named and the head is traditionally shaved. If the seventh day is missed, the fourteenth and twenty-first days are the commonly accepted alternatives, and scholars permit it later where circumstances required a delay.
The parents' names, the ceremony being held, the date with the weekday, the start time, the full venue, and whether a meal follows. Adding the baby's name is optional — many families keep it for the ceremony itself, and the wording should then say the name will be announced.
They overlap. A palna or cradle ceremony is the moment the baby is first placed in the cradle, and in many families the naming is done at the same gathering. Where they are held separately, the cradle ceremony usually comes on the 11th or 21st day.
