About this tool
Answer a few questions about your income to see whether ITR-2 or ITR-3 applies to you and why.
Pick the form you want to check and answer the questions about your income sources. This page brings together 2 separate itr form applicability checker pages (ITR-2, ITR-3) so you can compare them without hunting for the right one.
Open ITR Form Applicability Checker on AltFTool — it loads instantly in your browser.
Choose your form at the top: ITR-2, ITR-3. On a phone it is a drop-down list.
Fill in the itr form applicability checker for that form; each of the 2 options keeps its own rules, data and defaults.
Read the result, then switch form to compare. The page link keeps your form (?v=itr-2), so you can bookmark or share it.
ITR-2, ITR-3 and the rest sit behind one picker, so switching form takes a tap instead of a new search.
Every form keeps its own rules, numbers and defaults rather than one generic template.
The link remembers the form you picked, so a bookmark or a shared link opens straight on it.
2: ITR-2, ITR-3. Pick one at the top of the tool; the page link updates (for example ?v=itr-2) so you can bookmark or share that exact view.
ITR-2 is for individuals and HUFs with no income from business or profession who have capital gains, more than one house property, foreign assets or income, total income above Rs 50 lakh, agricultural income above Rs 5,000, or who are non-resident or RNOR.
ITR-3 is for individuals and HUFs who have income from profits and gains of business or profession. That includes proprietors, professionals who do not use presumptive taxation, partners in a firm receiving remuneration, interest or share of profit, and traders whose F&O or intraday activity is treated as business income.
