About this tool
Plan reminders for dentist visits, eye checkups, yearly flu shots and prostate screening based on age and last visit.
Pick the checkup, enter when you last went and get the next due date with a calendar reminder. This page brings together 4 separate health checkup reminder planner pages (Dentist visit, Eye checkup, Flu shot, Prostate screening) so you can compare them without hunting for the right one.
Open Health Checkup Reminder Planner on AltFTool — it loads instantly in your browser.
Choose your checkup at the top: Dentist visit, Eye checkup, Flu shot, Prostate screening. On a phone it is a drop-down list.
Fill in the health checkup reminder planner for that checkup; each of the 4 options keeps its own rules, data and defaults.
Read the result, then switch checkup to compare. The page link keeps your checkup (?v=dentist-visit), so you can bookmark or share it.
Dentist visit, Eye checkup, Flu shot and the rest sit behind one picker, so switching checkup takes a tap instead of a new search.
Every checkup keeps its own rules, numbers and defaults rather than one generic template.
The link remembers the checkup you picked, so a bookmark or a shared link opens straight on it.
4: Dentist visit, Eye checkup, Flu shot, Prostate screening. Pick one at the top of the tool; the page link updates (for example ?v=dentist-visit) so you can bookmark or share that exact view.
Somewhere between every 3 and 24 months if you are an adult, and between every 3 and 12 months if you are under 18. Evidence-based guidance rejects a fixed six-month rule and asks the dentist to set the interval from your risk of new decay and gum disease. Low-risk adults with no history of disease can safely go up to two years; people with active gum disease or recent decay are usually seen every three to six months.
For an adult aged 18 to 64 with no symptoms and no risk factors, at least every two years. Children from school age and adults from 65 should be seen annually, and anyone with a risk factor such as diabetes, a family history of glaucoma or high myopia should also be seen annually.
In the northern hemisphere, September or October — CDC advice is to be vaccinated by the end of October, before flu activity picks up in November. In the southern hemisphere the equivalent window is April to May, ahead of the June-August peak. Vaccinating much earlier than that can mean protection wanes before the peak.
The American Cancer Society suggests age 50 for men at average risk with at least a 10-year life expectancy, 45 for those at high risk — Black men or with a father or brother diagnosed before 65 — and 40 for men with more than one such relative. The discussion is the recommendation, not the test itself.
