About this tool
Seat, armrest, lumbar and recline settings from your height, plus a break plan that lands between matches.
This planner converts your body height into the four settings a gaming chair actually has — seat height, usable seat depth, armrest height and lumbar support position — plus the recline range and monitor height that suit how you play. Seat and elbow figures come from 50th-percentile adult proportions (popliteal height, buttock-to-popliteal length and sitting elbow height), and the monitor target follows the ANSI/HFES 100 rule of putting the top of the screen at or slightly below eye height. The break schedule rounds the 60-minute stand-up target up to a whole number of matches, so a break never falls in the middle of a live round.

Seat, depth, armrest and lumbar heights come out in centimetres you can measure against the chair.
The 60-minute target is rounded up to whole matches, so the plan is one you will actually follow.
Separate ranges for active aiming and for queueing, because holding one angle for hours is the real problem.
Set the seat so your feet are flat with the knees near 90 degrees — about 46 cm for a 175 cm player with shoes on — then bring the armrests to seated elbow height, roughly 23 cm above the seat pan, and put the lumbar pillow about 20 cm above the seat so it fills the inward curve of your lower back.
Around 100 to 105 degrees while you are actively aiming, opening out to 110 to 130 degrees when you are queueing or watching. A deep recline unloads the lower back but slows shoulder rotation, so the useful habit is switching between the two rather than picking one.
Centred about 20 cm above the seat pan for a 175 cm player, which puts it over the inward curve of the lower back rather than behind the ribs or the tailbone. Chair design conventionally places lumbar support 15 to 25 cm above the seat; if the pillow keeps sliding down, strap it or use a chair with built-in adjustable support.
Stand up and move at least every hour, and look 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes for your eyes. This planner rounds the hourly target up to the next whole match, so with 20-minute matches you break after every third one.
