About this tool
Generate professional, creative business names for your brand, startup, or venture, with industry-aware word banks and four naming styles.
The Business Name Generator builds business name candidates by combining a curated word bank — 25 brandable prefixes, 20 company suffixes such as Labs, Studio, Ventures and Collective, and 15 modifiers like AI, Prime and Forge — into one of four naming patterns. Choosing an industry mixes in a matching vocabulary set (tech, health, finance or creative), so a tech run can pull Nexus, Byte, Vector or Matrix instead of only generic words. You pick the style and how many names to see, then shortlist the ones worth checking.
Open Business Name Generator on AltFTool — it loads instantly in your browser.
Pick an industry (or keep it general) and a naming style — Modern, Classic, Prefixed or Descriptive.
Set how many names to generate with the slider, then click "Generate Business Names".
Scan the list, heart any name to pin it to your Shortlisted panel, and copy a favorite to your clipboard.
Tech, health, finance and creative each add their own ten-word set — Ledger, Trust and Treasury for finance; Canvas, Muse and Quill for creative — so the output reads like the sector.
Modern fuses words with no space (NovaLabs), Classic keeps the space (Nova Labs), Prefixed stacks two lead words, and Descriptive inserts a modifier in the middle.
Heart any name to pin it to a Shortlisted panel and copy it in one click, so a 30-name batch narrows to a handful without a separate notes file.
Between 1 and 30 per run, set with the slider, and you can regenerate as many times as you like. Each run re-draws randomly from the word bank, so two runs at the same settings give you different lists.
Modern joins the two words with no space ("HorizonWorks"), Classic separates them ("Horizon Works"), Prefixed pairs a lead word with a second lead word ("Apex Horizon"), and Descriptive slots a modifier between them ("Horizon Edge Works"). The same word pool feeds all four.
No. It generates name candidates only — it does not query domain registrars or trademark databases. Check availability separately with a registrar and your national trademark register, and consult a professional before you commit to branding or filings.
25 prefixes, 20 suffixes and 15 modifiers, plus 10 extra words for each of the four industries. That means a general Modern run draws from 25 × 35 = 875 possible pairings, and picking an industry widens the first slot to 35 words.
