Track trophies and manage screenshot/video sharing

Trophies track in-game achievements and roll up into an account-wide level, while the Share/Create button controls screenshot and video capture, broadcasting, and posting to linked social accounts.

What you should know

  • The trophy list for the current game is accessible from the Control Center or Game Base, showing Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum progress and rarity percentages.
  • Capture settings — screenshot format, video length/quality, and microphone/controller audio inclusion — are under Settings → Captures and Broadcasts.
  • Linking social accounts for direct sharing is done under Settings → Users and Accounts → Link Social Accounts.

Why it matters

Trophy sync and capture settings are easy to misconfigure without noticing — a missed sync can make a completed Platinum appear absent from your profile, and default capture quality can eat storage faster than expected.

Best practices

  • Leave trophy sync enabled so progress uploads automatically instead of relying on manual sync before you need to prove completion.
  • Lower default video capture resolution or length under Captures and Broadcasts if storage fills up quickly from auto-saved clips.

Common problems and fixes

Trophies earned in-game aren't showing on your profile
Confirm you're signed in to PSN with an active connection, then manually sync from the trophy list's options menu; a persistently broken trophy list may need a PlayStation Support ticket.
Can't share captures directly to a social platform
Re-link that account under Settings → Users and Accounts → Link Social Accounts — link tokens can expire and need refreshing.

Tips and tricks

  • Double-tapping the Create/Share button captures the last 15–60 seconds of gameplay retroactively, so you don't need to start recording before a good moment happens.

Frequently asked questions

Do trophies sync across PS4 and PS5 for the same game?

Yes, if it's the same PSN account and the title supports cross-generation saves/trophies; otherwise PS4 and PS5 versions of a game can have separate trophy lists.
