Check battery levels and charge the earbuds and case
The Galaxy Wearable home screen shows live battery percentages for both earbuds and the case, and the case itself charges over USB-C or wirelessly on a Qi pad or a compatible Galaxy phone's Wireless PowerShare.
What you should know
- Open Galaxy Wearable to see left earbud, right earbud, and case battery percentages on the home screen at a glance.
- Tap and hold the Galaxy Wearable notification in the notification shade for a quick battery readout without fully opening the app.
- Charge the case with a USB-C cable, or place it face-down on a Qi wireless charging pad or on the back of a Galaxy phone with Wireless PowerShare turned on.
- Turn on Auto power off under earbud settings so idle earbuds outside the case power down after a set time instead of draining in the background.
- A solid LED on the case (color varies by model) indicates charging status; check the case's own indicator when the phone is out of Bluetooth range.
Why it matters
Because the case both stores and charges the earbuds, a case that isn't itself charged is one of the most common reasons buds appear 'dead' even though they were left in the case overnight — knowing where to check both battery numbers avoids that confusion.
Best practices
- Keep the case above roughly 30% if you're heading out for the day, since a near-empty case can't fully recharge depleted earbuds.
- Avoid leaving the case on a wireless charging pad for days at a time at full charge — periodic full charges paired with regular use are better for long-term battery health than constant top-offs.
- Clean the case's charging pins occasionally with a dry cloth if an earbud stops charging inside the case despite the case itself having power.
Common problems and fixes
- One earbud shows a lower battery than the other
- This is normal with asymmetric usage (e.g. phone calls on one ear); let both sit in the case together to recharge evenly.
- Case LED doesn't light up when connected to power
- Try a different USB-C cable and charger, and confirm the case's charging port is free of lint or debris.
Tips and tricks
- A fully charged case alone can typically recharge the earbuds several times over before the case itself needs power again.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use Wireless PowerShare from my Galaxy phone to charge the buds case?
Yes, on supported Galaxy phones — turn on Wireless PowerShare in Quick Settings and place the case face-down on the back of the phone.
