Max Bittker's closed aquatic terrarium runs on falling-sand physics. You add water, sand, algae, plants, fish and snails, then adjust light and heat and watch whether the nutrient cycle balances or collapses. There is no score, only whether the jar is still alive tomorrow.
Everything is coupled, so overfeeding the fish clouds the water, starves the plants and kills the fish a few minutes later without you touching anything.
