Kyle Drake rebuilt the old free-hosting model in 2013, handing everyone a slice of space and a plain text editor instead of a template. What grew out of it is a sprawl of hand-coded personal sites with tiled backgrounds, guestbooks and webrings, all browsable from the front page.
