Global Forest Watch compares satellite imagery over time to flag forest loss, often within days of it happening, then maps the results against protected areas, logging concessions and fire hotspots. Loss and gain can be animated year by year back to 2000 for any country or region.
Zoom to a single concession boundary and the deforestation alerts stop dead at the line, which says more about enforcement than any report could.
