About this tool
Answer a few questions and discover your perfect vacation destination — from tropical beaches to mountain escapes, and everything in between.
Dream Vacation Finder asks seven questions — budget, climate, trip type, travel style, season, duration and continent — then scores 55 curated destinations across six continents against your answers and ranks them by match percentage. Budget, climate, activity and continent each carry the heaviest weight, so the top pick reflects what you said matters most rather than a generic bucket-list order. Each result comes with the best months to visit, a daily cost estimate, highlights, local dishes and a fun fact.
Open Dream Vacation Finder on AltFTool — it loads instantly in your browser.
Work through the seven one-tap questions — What's your budget?, Preferred climate?, What kind of trip?, Travel style?, Preferred season?, Trip duration? and Preferred continent? — picking an option advances the card automatically while the counter reads 1 of 7; Back returns to the previous question and Reset clears every answer.
Once six of the seven are answered the Find My Vacation button appears; click it (it reads Finding... while it works) to score all 55 destinations against your answers, or click Surprise Me at any point to skip the quiz and draw a random destination you have not been shown before.
Your Perfect Match shows the winning destination with its match percentage badge, best time to visit, cost estimate and star rating, then More Destinations You'll Love lists the next six; Show more expands Top Highlights, Local Cuisine and Fun Fact, the copy button puts those details on your clipboard, the heart saves the place to the Saved tab, and Try Different Preferences or Shuffle Results restarts the quiz or reorders the runners-up.
Every destination is scored against your answers and normalised, so you can see whether the top result is a strong fit or the least-bad option.
Related choices count partially — a nature preference credits adventure destinations, culture credits food destinations — so a good fit is not discarded on one mismatched answer.
Best time to visit, an estimated daily cost range, signature dishes and highlight sights come with the result, so you can rule a place out before opening a booking site.
55, spread across Asia, Europe, Africa, North America, South America and Oceania. You get the single best match plus the next six ranked options after each quiz.
Each answer contributes weighted points to a destination — 3 each for budget, climate, activity and a specific continent, 2 each for travel style, season and duration — and the total is divided by the maximum available, so the percentage reflects only the questions you answered.
Yes. The surprise option picks a random destination from the full list and skips ones you have already been shown, which is useful when you want inspiration rather than a fit.
They are indicative daily ranges for the destination, such as roughly $40-120 a day for Bali or $120-300 for Santorini, covering typical on-the-ground spending rather than flights. Actual costs move with season, exchange rates and how you travel, so check current prices before budgeting.
