Free Portfolio Website Templates
A portfolio site has one job: get the right person to look at your work and then contact you. The templates here do that in different ways, from a one-screen resume with a fixed sidebar to full-screen panels that open over a blurred photo, and lightbox grids that keep visitors on the page while they browse projects.
Every design is a real open-source template from Start Bootstrap (MIT) or HTML5 UP (CC BY 3.0). Open the live preview to check how it behaves on a phone, then grab the Markdown blueprint: it lists the sections, layout rules and interactions so you or an AI assistant can rebuild it with your own name, projects and colours.

FAQ
Portfolio template questions
Which portfolio template is best for a developer?
Resume and Read Only suit developers who lead with experience and skills, because both keep a profile and navigation fixed at the side. If you have screenshots to show, Freelancer and Strata put a project grid front and centre.
Can I use these portfolio templates for client work?
Yes. Start Bootstrap templates are MIT licensed and HTML5 UP templates are CC BY 3.0, so both allow personal and commercial use. HTML5 UP asks you to keep a visible credit link unless you arrange otherwise with the author.
Do I need to know Bootstrap to customise them?
Basic HTML and CSS is enough for text, images and colours. The Markdown blueprint describes each section and its layout so you can also hand it to a developer or an AI coding tool.
