Pranx needs no account and no sign-in. The only thing it ever asks for is an email address, and only if you choose to give one.
What you type into a prank stays with you
Every simulator on this site — the fake terminals, the screensavers, the update screens — runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into a prank is transmitted, stored or logged. Closing the tab ends it.
The page around the simulator is ordinary web analytics territory, though: see the Cookie Policy for the tags that load and how to switch the non-essential ones off.
What we record if you subscribe
If you enter your email in the newsletter form or the popup and tick the consent box, we save:
- Your email address.
- The exact consent wording shown to you, recorded word for word at the moment you agreed.
- Which form you used and the page you were on.
- Your browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language and time zone.
- The address of the page you submitted from, including its full query string, any campaign tags in the link you arrived through, and the referring site.
- An approximate location worked out from your network connection.
- A shortened form of your IP address with the final part removed, plus a one-way scrambled fingerprint of the full address that cannot be turned back into it and exists only to settle a dispute about a subscription. The readable full address is never stored.
That list is recorded only when you submit one of those two forms — never from simply using a prank. Separately from it, the wider ALTFTool analytics and advertising tags described in the Cookie Policy do load on these pages and measure page views, subject to the consent choice you make.
What we do with it
We use your address to tell you when a new prank simulator lands. We do not sell it, rent it or trade it. We are not sending these emails yet, so subscribing today stores your address and nothing arrives in your inbox.
Removing your details
Email altftool@gmail.com and we will delete your address and everything stored with it. Any mailing we begin will also carry an unsubscribe link.
