About this fake whatsapp chat generator
Mockly's fake WhatsApp chat generator lets you write a pretend conversation, line by line, and see it appear in a familiar green-and-white chat screen. Add messages for both sides, set the contact name and photo, pick a time for each bubble and choose whether it shows one grey tick, two grey ticks or two blue ones.
It is built for jokes: a puppy announcement for the family, a meme for the group, a scene for a comedy short. Everything happens in your browser, nothing is uploaded, and every image carries a small Prank watermark so nobody mistakes a joke for a real screenshot.
How to make a fake WhatsApp Chat (for fun)
- Pick a prank idea. Start from one of 5 ready-made ideas, or keep the default whatsapp chat.
- Edit the details. Change names, avatar, messages, times, counts and theme in the Content panel — the preview updates as you type.
- Check the preview. On a phone, switch to the Preview tab; the mockup scales to fit your screen.
- Download or share. Save a PNG or JPG at 2x or 3x, copy it, or share it straight from your phone. Then reveal the joke!

Keep it a joke. Mockly makes parody images for fun. Never use a mockup to deceive, defame, harass or defraud anyone, and don't pose as a real person's or brand's official account. Every export carries a small “Prank · altftool.com” watermark. Not affiliated with WhatsApp or any app shown.
FAQ
Can I change the read ticks?
Yes. Each message you send has a status: sent shows one grey tick, delivered shows two grey ticks and read shows two blue ticks. Messages from the other person have no ticks, just like the app.
Is the WhatsApp chat generator free?
It is completely free with no sign-up. The editor runs in your browser, your draft autosaves locally and nothing you type is sent to a server.
Is it legal to make a fake WhatsApp chat?
Making one for a joke, meme or parody is fine. Using it to deceive, defame, harass or defraud someone can be illegal and breaks the terms of most platforms, so keep it light and make sure people are in on the joke.
Will people know it's fake?
They should. Every export carries a small 'Prank · altftool.com' watermark, and Mockly is designed for obvious jokes rather than tricking anyone.
Is it legal to make a fake WhatsApp screenshot?
Making a parody image for a joke is generally fine. Using one to deceive, defame, harass, impersonate or defraud someone can be illegal and breaks every platform's rules — so don't.
