Core Policy Commitments
Specifications in Good Faith
Yacht dimensions, speeds, and amenities are subject to surveyor inspection and independent sea trial verification.
No Guarantees on Weather or Permits
Sovereign cruising permits, sanctuary anchorages, and weather conditions are beyond the control of the brokerage.
Independent Surveyor Mandate
Prospective yacht purchasers are strongly advised to engage an independent SAMS or YDSA certified marine surveyor prior to acquisition.
Local VAT & Cruising Duty Disclosures
Local cruising taxes, Greek e-TEPAI, Italian VAT, and Caribbean cruising permits vary by flag and port of call.
1.0 1. Vessel Specifications & Performance Data
Details concerning LOA, beam, draft, sail area, engine hours, cruising speed, and equipment inventories presented on Rapide Yacht Group platforms are provided by yacht owners, central brokers, or manufacturers. While deemed reliable, accuracy cannot be guaranteed.
Performance multihull capabilities (such as boat speed relative to true wind speed, foiling thresholds, or trans-oceanic passage durations) depend on variable sea conditions, sail selection, helmsman proficiency, and onboard payload. Published figures are indicative representations.
2.0 2. Independent Marine Survey & Pre-Purchase Inspections
For yacht acquisitions and major refit consultations, Rapide Yacht Group strictly recommends that every buyer engage an independent, accredited marine surveyor (member of SAMS, NAMS, or YDSA) and a certified marine diesel specialist.
Neither Rapide nor its brokers acts as a structural marine surveyor or naval architect. A formal survey, haul-out, and sea trial are essential steps before any escrow closing.
3.0 3. Flag State, Port State Control & Crew Certifications
Commercial charter vessels must comply with their respective flag state maritime administrations (e.g., Cayman Islands Maritime Authority, Marshall Islands, British Virgin Islands, Malta, or United States Coast Guard).
Rapide verifies that listed charter yachts possess active commercial registration and safety certificates. However, day-to-day compliance with SOLAS, STCW crew endorsements, and ISM codes remains the legal obligation of the registered vessel owner and designated ship management company.
4.0 4. VAT, Local Cruising Taxes & Environmental Surcharges
Charter rates quoted on our website exclude applicable Value Added Tax (VAT), local goods and services taxes, and foreign cruising licenses unless expressly stated as 'all-inclusive'.
Cruising grounds such as the Mediterranean (EU VAT regimes), Bahamas (4% foreign charter tax + 10% VAT), and French Polynesia impose distinct tax structures that are calculated based on port of embarkation and itinerary. Our charter advisory desk will supply a full itemized tax estimate during contracting.
