RoastBend started as a single 400 sq ft espresso bar in Portland’s Pearl District with one roaster and a stubborn belief that every American town deserved great coffee. Today we run 140+ locations across 28 states — and every one of them pours the same cup as our first.

Build-out & training
Our design team manages the turnkey build while you and your manager complete 120 hours of certification at RoastBend Academy.

Book a callNo. Around 60% of our partners come from outside food service. What matters is leadership, community focus and the ability to follow a proven system. RoastBend Academy covers the rest — 120 hours of hands-on barista, operations and P&L training.
A minimum of $100,000 in liquid capital and a $350,000 net worth for a single unit. We work with SBA-preferred lenders who typically finance 60–70% of the total investment for qualified candidates.
Royalty is 0% in year one, then 6% of gross sales. The national marketing fund is 2%. There are no technology or software fees — the POS, rewards app and dashboards are included.
Most partners open within 6–8 months of signing, depending on site selection and local permitting. Drive-Thru Express units with modular builds can open in as little as 4 months.
Yes — and most do. Area Development Agreements let you lock in 3–10 units in a metro with reduced franchise fees per unit. 72% of our new openings are from existing partners.
We source direct-trade Arabica from partner farms in Colombia, Ethiopia and Guatemala, roast weekly at our Portland roastery and ship to every café within 72 hours of roasting.
