Information We Collect
Fact Hub operates as an educational curiosity repository. We collect only the minimum necessary data required to deliver fast, reliable, and accessible research dossiers:
- Anonymous Usage Telemetry: High-level aggregated statistics such as guide page views, reading time estimations, and category dwell times used solely to improve research depth.
- Search Query Interactions: Client-side search filters run in your browser. Popular keywords are computed without logging personal identity or IP addresses.
- Voluntary Reader Feedback: Any messages, corrections, or fact verification inquiries you send to our editors.
How We Use Public Knowledge Data
All factual claims, numbers, and historical dossiers indexed on Fact Hub are curated from reputable public sources, scientific literature, university archives, and official cultural institutions. We do not ingest or index private personal data.
Our editors verify fact citations against primary documentation prior to publication. No generative AI content is published without human editorial review and factual verification.
Text-to-Speech & Client Features
Fact Hub features interactive reading utilities such as the Random Fact Generator with integrated Text-to-Speech (TTS):
- Web Speech API: Voice narration utilizes your local browser's native
window.speechSynthesisengine. Audio synthesis occurs entirely on your device; no voice data is recorded or transmitted to external servers. - Clipboard Utilities: The "Copy Fact" action utilizes the standard Clipboard API to copy formatted quotes directly to your operating system clipboard.
Analytics, Cookies & Local Storage
Fact Hub does not use invasive third-party cross-site tracking cookies. We utilize client storage exclusively for:
- Theme & Display State: Locking the Fact Hub light canvas and preserving reading position.
- Search Caching: Storing instant index lookups locally to ensure search results appear instantly without server round-trips.
Third-Party Services & Links
Our dossiers may include outbound references to external research papers, open-data repositories, and archival photography. When you click an external link, the privacy policy of that third party governs your visit.
Your Rights & Data Portability
In compliance with global data protection frameworks including the GDPR (EU) and CCPA (California), you have the right to request clarification on any data interactions, request deletion of inquiry records, or submit editorial corrections.
