Learn coding in Hindi, one small step at a time

AltFLang is a programming language written in Hinglish — rakho for a variable, agar for if, jab_tak for a loop. This course takes you from your first bol to a working mini project. Every lesson has code you can edit and run right here, and an exercise that checks your answer.

About 110 minutes in total

The learning path

Each lesson builds on the one before. Take them in order the first time; come back to any of them later as a reference.

  1. Lesson 1: Namaste Duniya: your first AltFLang programPrint text with bol, leave notes with comments and run your very first Hinglish program — no install, no setup.5 min ·bolchhapcommentsstrings
  2. Lesson 2: Variables with rakho and constants with pakkaGive values a name with rakho, change them later, and lock the ones that must never change with pakka.7 min ·rakhopakkaassignmentscope
  3. Lesson 3: Data types: numbers, text, sahi/galat and khaliMeet the six kinds of values AltFLang understands and the helpers that check and convert them.8 min ·sankhyashabdsahigalatkhali
  4. Lesson 4: Operators: maths, comparison and logicDo arithmetic, compare values and combine conditions — the building blocks of every decision your program makes.8 min ·+ - * / %== !=< > <= >=&& || !ganit
  5. Lesson 5: Decisions with agar and warna (if else)Make your program choose: run one block when a condition holds, another when it does not, and chain as many checks as you need.9 min ·agarwarnawarna agarnested conditions
  6. Lesson 6: Loops with jab_tak and chalo, plus bhang and aageRepeat work without copy-paste: count with chalo, wait for a condition with jab_tak, and steer a loop with bhang and aage.10 min ·jab_takchalobhangaage
  7. Lesson 7: Functions with karya and lautaoPackage a piece of logic under a name, feed it inputs, get a result back with lautao, and reuse it anywhere.10 min ·karyalautaoparametersrecursion
  8. Lesson 8: Lists: store many values in orderKeep many values in one variable, reach any item by position, and use the list helpers to add, remove, sort, sum and search.11 min ·[ ]indexlambaijodonikalo
  9. Lesson 9: Objects: values with namesDescribe one thing with many named fields, read them with a dot, and walk through every key with chabiyan.9 min ·{ key: value }dot accessbracket accesschabiyanmulya
  10. Lesson 10: Working with text: string built-insClean up, cut, search and rebuild text with AltFLang's string helpers — and solve the palindrome puzzle.10 min ·badachhotasaafkaatomilao
  11. Lesson 11: har, chuno and ikattha: map, filter and reduceHand a function to a list helper and let it do the looping: transform with har, pick with chuno, total up with ikattha.10 min ·harchunoikatthafunction values
  12. Lesson 12: Input with pucho and a mini projectAsk the user questions with pucho, turn answers into numbers, and put the whole course together in a report-card project.12 min ·puchosankhyakhali checksproject

Questions about learning to code in Hindi

Can I learn coding in Hindi with no experience?

Yes. The course starts from printing a single line and assumes no prior knowledge. AltFLang's keywords are everyday Hindi words written in English letters — rakho, agar, jab_tak, karya — so you can focus on the logic instead of memorising English jargon.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Every example and exercise runs in your browser with AltFLang's built-in interpreter. Nothing is installed and your code is not sent to a server.

Will AltFLang help me learn Python or JavaScript later?

The ideas carry over directly: variables, conditions, loops, functions, lists and objects work the same way. AltFLang's syntax is close to JavaScript, and every keyword page shows the JavaScript and Python equivalent side by side.

How is my progress saved?

When you pass a lesson's exercise it is marked complete in your browser's local storage. There is no account and nothing is uploaded; clearing site data resets it.
